April 6: Compline: Singing in Silence, Light in Darkness

Posted by
The service of Compline stems from the earliest prayer traditions of the ancient church. Traditionally, it is the last of the daily monastic services, sung as a final prayer of the day before going to sleep. Today, this candlelit liturgy offers a rare opportunity for deep spiritual contemplation and meditation as we look towards Holy Week - or even just the work week!
Join us Sunday, April 6, at 8:30 p.m. to experience this special service for yourself.

For anyone who would like to take part in the Compline Choir, you are invited! There will be a rehearsal in the choir room at 7:15 pm. Our own Dean Stephen Carlsen will be bolstering the tenor section! All are welcome to sing. Please RSVP your interest to sing in the choir by Friday, April 4 to Dana Marsh. A free-will offering will be taken to benefit the South Sudan.

Sabbath Keeping "On the 7th Day God rested..." If God rested, it's not just about being tired or drained; God does not get tired. Sabbath is a spiritual practice reminding us it is not our activity that saved us but simply our being in God's image. Join us after coffee hour in the Parish Hall for a conversation about the different ways to keep Sabbath.
