Music Day Camp: July 7-13

Posted by

The Power of Song is a week-long day camp for boys and girls, ages 5-12, on July 7-13, 2014  from 8:00 until 5:00 p.m. each day at Christ Church Cathedral on Monument Circle.

Our program aims to help campers discover, through music, our core values as a human community. Campers will make new friends in an inclusive, caring Christian community, develop new musical and artistic skills, take daily field trips, and perform at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday, July 13, 2014.

Campers will enjoy lots of fun, music, singing, crafts, field trips every day, Christian formation, leadership, faculty and student mentors, with lots of emphasis on teamwork. The week ends with a big family picnic and the children's performances, which will be later broadcast on WICR-FM.

Cost is $80 for the week, which includes breakfast, lunches, and snacks.

June 29: Social Media Sunday

Posted by

Obviously…

-Moses wasn’t using TripAdvisor to find a nice, reasonable hotel in the desert

-Martha wasn’t on Pinterest looking up recipes to serve Jesus

-David wasn’t posting his latest psalms to his YouTube Channel

-Jesus wasn’t live tweeting events (although all the Beatitudes are 140 characters or less, making them perfectly suited for Twitter!)

However, our faith has gone viral since the very beginning. Paul might not have had a smartphone, but he used the social media of his time: Epistles, which continue to spread throughout the world today.

This Sunday, June 29, 2014, Christ Church Cathedral and the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis invite you to join us in being a part of making the Good News go viral. We'll do a group "check-in" during the announcements, and feel free to Tweet during the service. If you're new to social media, we'll even offer a tutorial at Lemonade on the Lawn after the 10 a.m. Eucharist! (Be sure to use #episcopalin in all your Tweets!)

Sundays: Lemonade on the Lawn

After the Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. and before the Santa Misa at 1 p.m. each Sunday, Christ Church Cathedral folks take advantage of the beautiful summer here in Indianapolis with Lemonade on the Lawn, and we'd love to share it with you.

Lemonade on the Lawn, a beloved CCC tradition, has returned, and all are warmly welcome, including newcomers. Make new friends, visit with old friends, and enjoy a bit of downtown's vibrant life before heading out for Sunday brunch!

Would you like to get to know more CCC folks by serving? Or, do you have some delicious treats you've made at home to share? Contact Carl Michaelis, carlm@cccindy.org for more information!
