Ash Wednesday, this Wednesday, February 13, is the fast day that marks the beginning of Lent in the Church. It is a time for introspection, reflection, renewal, and amendment of life. We receive the sign of the Cross in ash on our foreheads to remind ourselves both of our own mortality, and of God’s abundant grace and immortality that raises us to new life.
Christ Church Cathedral will offer four worship services on Ash Wednesday to help you make a right start to the Lenten season. 7:00 a.m. (30 minute liturgy), 12:05 p.m. (55 minute liturgy), 5:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. in Spanish.
As well, we will be offering our Ashes to Go on Monument Circle during commuting and lunch hours for those who are unable to attend a liturgy that day. We warmly welcome your presence with us!
